MY QUESTION:

When was the last time a stranger did a kind deed for you?

MY ANSWER:

I apologize in advance for this lengthy answer but I wanted to share because these days it seems that kind acts are far and few between. The day of my Mom's wake, I picked up my sister as we had to be at the funeral home an hour before visiting hours to have our private time. Being nervous and not focused, I got into an accident on the way. It was 100% my fault. I rear ended a pick up truck. I made sure my sister was ok, then got out of the car to check on the other driver, he was ok. I started to cry as I explained where I was headed to. He said there was no damage to his truck but much damage to my car. He patted me on the back, gave me his condolences and said not to worry but to go be with my mother. He never asked for my name, insurance, registration. I cried even more, there are still kind and compassionate people in this world.

Steve Update and Friday Memes

Hi Friends!!

You may have noticed that after posting the good news about my husband on Monday, stating that he had been discharged on Sunday, that he was doing well, etc and that I would be easing back into my daily routine, that I haven't.  The reason being, a few hours after posting that news, I had to call 911 and my husband was rushed back to the hospital and readmitted.  He had an "episode" of a full blown stroke like symptoms, however, by the time rescue got him to the ER, the symptoms subsided and were gone.  After multiple tests, all coming back negative, the conclusion was that his anti seizure medication was not at a therapeutic blood level.  It has been adjusted and he was, once again, discharged yesterday hopefully for good this time.  Again, I want to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers, concern, caring, and comforting words.  It has meant more than you will ever know!!!!

Mornings. Between 6--9am,when I grab my coffee, boot up my computer, open the windows in my office and listen to the sounds of nature and quiet.

“Non-book-related this week!! Do you have pets?”

My Answer:

This is the first time in my life that I have been pet-less.  At this stage in our life we have decided that now that we are empty nesters, no more pets.  We can come and go as we please, go on vacations and not worry about boarding and because of the last dog who shared our house, I think we will continue to be pet-less.  My son decided that he wanted a dog..."his dog" while he was still living here except he forgot that he was a full time college student and also working a full time job and decided to choose a high energy breed who tends to have separation anxiety and becomes spiteful when that happens.  Bronx (named because my son is a HUGE NY Yankees fan) is an absolutely beautiful Weimaraner but we had a mutual dislike for each other.  I laugh now that Paul has moved out,bought his 1st house and listen to all that Bronx has been up to.  WTG Bronx!!!
