Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading
Today's question:
Other than for school, do you read books to
learn how to do something? What was/were the topic(s)?
My answer:
Hmm..I'm finding this question a bit tricky for me to answer. I may read a recipe from a cookbook but not read the entire book so does that count? Or I have read the small booklet that came with my new phone, and I mean small, to learn about all the gadgets, which btw, the booklet didn't help. So am not sure if that counts. And I just received a book on Digital Photography, which I do plan to read because I love looking at all the pictures on everyone's site and want to learn how to do it. But other than that, I guess my answer would be no.

The Digital Photography books looks real good. Enjoy both your new reads.
I rely on my kids to help me with gadgets rather than read the booklet! They can teach me quicker. ;o)
Oh, I am a fan of "how to" books. Many a home project, gardening project, craft project has been done with one at my side.
cookbooks seem to be a popular answer. i went with craft books...i do read those how to parts.

A Whisper to Scream looks good.
The book I read this year to help me learn something was when my brother had a massive stroke and it did help.
A Memoir - My Stroke of Insight
I haven't read a book telling me how to do something in over 30 years. I read some books on Photography, because I wanted to teach myself how to take better pictures. My son, Paul was 15-16 years old at the time, and he became my model. After that I decided to teach myself to arrange flowers, so bought some books on how to make flower arrangements. I enjoyed that, however, that became very expensive, buying flowers every week. So tried silk flower arrangements, but got tired of them, because they never changed. hehe.
I sure need to read the Digital Photography book. My photography skills could use some assistance!
