GIVEAWAY ENTRY PAGE "THE ARRIVALS ENDED

MAY 25th to JUNE 8th, 2011

THE ARRIVALS
Photobucket
by MEG MTCHELL MOORE

SYNOPSIS:
It's early summer when Ginny and William's peaceful life in Vermont comes to an abrupt halt.
First, their daughter Lillian arrives, with her two children in tow, to escape her crumbling marriage. Next, their son Stephen and his pregnant wife Jane show up for a weekend visit, which extends indefinitely when Jane ends up on bed rest. When their youngest daughter Rachel appears, fleeing her difficult life in New York, Ginny and William find themselves consumed again by the chaos of parenthood - only this time around, their children are facing adult problems.
By summer's end, the family gains new ideas of loyalty and responsibility, exposing the challenges of surviving the modern family - and the old adage, once a parent, always a parent, has never rung so true.

Oh, yes, my mom was parenting until just before she passed away. She did, however, relinquish the reins to me to take over for her the care and feeding of the rest of the family. Of course, we are all adults but I have to see if anyone needs anything, especially my sister.

I definitely believe that. Once you are in charge of another human being, you do everything you can to make sure they are safe. Your instincts are extremely heightened. This isn't something you can just turn off once your child comes of age. You will always be watching out for them.

I definitely do. My "kids" are 25 and 28 and my feelings towards them are still the same. I'd love to protect them and take care of them, though I know they are on their own and maybe don't need me as much. The feelings never go away.

I totally believe once a parent, always a parent. If you have done your job correctly raising your child, even when they go out on thir own into the real world as an adult, it's always mom and dad they're going to want to advise and assist them with troubling issues, major life questions, the most difficult and best moments of their lives. It's why parenthood is the most difficult thing you'll veer do but hopefully, it's also the most rewarding.

Thank you for this great giveaway!

I do agree to some degree. Once you've experienced someone calling you 'mom', it's hard not to turn and look to see if it's your child when you hear another child turn and say 'mom'

Firmly - once you are a parent you are always a parent, but it changes and grows as your children grow. I also firmly believe that we do not owe our children beds and money after a certain age (if one chooses to do that, well that is their choice) but that we must raise them to be responisble, funcioning members of society. It is allot harder than I thought it would be LOL.
