A Bit Of Me

Photobucket

Hosted by Danielle at There's A Book From Danielle's blog:
We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.
This week's question:  Who is the person you admire the very most?

Danielle posts the questions for "A Bit Of Me" a week in advance and usually I come up with the answers right away because they are fun questions.  This week was different.  A lot of thought went into this question.  My first thoughts were family members and famous individuals, however, there was also a group of individuals that also came to mind but I didn't know their names except for maybe 1 or 2.  Not only did I not know their names,   but there are so many of them and again, I have only met 1 or 2 of them.  Who do I admire the most?  The young men and women in our military, who have selflessly given their lives for our freedom.  They have left their families, so that we can enjoy ours.  They are true heroes!!!!
What about you?  Who do you admire most?

I've posted about Ranger Rosaries, elsewhere but perhaps some of your readers would like to remember our service personnel by making combat rosaries (not metallic or shiny, strung w/ parachute cord for toughness, and service colors). http://www.rangerrosary.com/
Wikipedia says rosaries are used, not only by Roman Catholics, but Anglicans and Lutherans too. The comments from serving chaplains suggest, however, a non-denominational appreciation.

You brought tears to my eyes. Every day I think of what just my brothers have selflessly and uncomplainingly given up.
