From An Island Life: In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, visit An Island Life answer the question and then post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

Hosted by Jennifer from CRAZY FOR BOOKS
In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and find new book-related blogs that we may be missing out on! This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs that they may not know existed! So, grab the logo, post about the Hop on your blog, and start HOPPING through the list of blogs that are posted in the Linky list below!!The Hop lasts Friday-Monday every week, so if you don't have time to Hop today, come back later and join the fun! This is a weekly event! And stop back throughout the weekend to see all the new blogs that are added! We get over 200 links every week!!
Your blog should have content related to books, including, but not limited to book reviews.
If you start following someone through the Hop, leave a comment on their blog to let them know! Stop back during the week to see other blogs that are added! And, most importantly, the idea is to HAVE FUN!!
This week's question:
"Since Thanksgiving is coming up next week, let's use this week's Hop to share what we are most thankful for and what our holiday traditions are!"
My Answer:
Without question....family and friends. I am also thankful, and proud, of my 2 sons. They both are, happy, respectful, hard working and caring adults. Growing up, there were some hair pulling moments, but overall, they were good kids. They were the typical "teenagers" but never got in trouble outside of home. I absolutely love that they are so close, when they lived here, they would go out with their friends but it got to the point that their individual friends became each others' friends and they all "hung out together". Now that they live in different states, the call each other often. They are what I am most thankful for.
We usually eat at mil and then go visit my mother and sister. It is hard because of my mother's lack of mobility, to include her outside of her assisted living facility. Only one son will be coming "home" for Thanksgiving but will be greatly missed.

Aww. I can't think of any recipes that have been passed down. Maybe Grams Bread Pudding? But I'm the only one who'll eat it...
I'm most thankful for my in-laws. They help me more than they know!
We really don't have any, which is probably good since it keeps me from licking out bowls and testing...
Have a great day!

My Friday Question - History and A Question
I can't think of any recipes passed down, however, my MIL gave me a Mennonite Cook Book, because I was always calling her to find out how to made this dish or that. I never cooked until after I got married. Poor Tony, but he has survived 52 and a half years of my cooking. I had a friend who told me there is a difference between someone who cooks, and someone who puts food on the table, I was someone who put food on the table. hee, hee. I'm still learning...
I've always loved my mother's potato salad and she gave it to me.
My MIL also gave me her pie crust and taco recipes.
My mothers Chicken & Dumplings. Yum!!!
Now following via Follow Friday 40 & Over.
Isn't it awesome when all of your hard work pays off in wonderful, contributing members of society? That's one of the things I'm most thankful for as well. Have a wonderful holiday week!

Just stopping by to say Hi from the Hop... I’m relatively new to the world of book blogging (2 months – 60ish posts) and learning something new and exciting every week!
Have a great Thanksgiving! Love the graphics on your title!
My family doesn't have any passed down recipes.
My Great-Grandmother's Swedish Meatball recipe, and my mom's yummy stuffing recipe. :)
Aloha: Black Friday Shopping
I think Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it reminds us to step back and remember how lucky we are.
Hey, Cheryl! Trying to make time to stop by my favorite bloggers. Happy Friday!
Favorite Recipe that's been passed down? My great-grandma's rhubarb cream pie. I'm fairly good at pies, but I still can't make it quite like Grandma Bunch did.....
I'm thankful for all sorts of things--but this year, mostly for my wonderful Eagle Scout son! I'm so proud that he reached that goal.
Well, there really isn't a recipe except for my grandmother's gravy (Italian spaghetti sauce). My girls, and my youngest son (oldest son doesn't cook & he's married to the daughter-in-law from hell, but we won't go there) they all know that recipe like the back of their hand. I love to cook always did, but I also love to experiment. My oldest daughter recently asked me to right down my recipe for stuffing. She's obsessed with my stuffing I think. ~hehe~ She's a good girl. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Oh and what am I thankful for? My wonderful family and my wonderful new friends each and every one of them are special to me.
Hopping through. I'm a new follower. I love that a stack of books is the mouse curser on your blog!

My mother-in-laws Fresh Apple Cake. It's to die for.
