Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about a story format.
How do you feel about books written in a differing format – whether this be journals or letters (epistolary), verse novels, or any other form? Is this something you enjoy? Or do you prefer straight forward chapter prose.
I am a "Plain Jane" chapter reader. Unless, say a portion of a journal or a letter is part of the story line. Then there is the "mind over matter" chapter format which is my favorite. Small chapters, say 3-7 pages. It seems that I read those books faster. I will tell myself.."just one more chapter" and then I realize I have read 10 chapters especially if the book is a can't put down to start with.

Here's my Mailbox Monday and Monday Musing.
Happy reading! The Memory Thief looks intriguing. My mailbox is at The Crowded Leaf.
I'm the same way with books with short chapters. "Just one more chapter" then it ends on a cliffhanger so I read a little more. Then I'm so close to the next chapter, I'll just read to that - then it ends on a cliffhanger...
Evelyn David ('Murder Off The Books' and 'Murder Takes The Cake') is good at that. Or should I say, bad at that since I get no sleep!
My Monday Musings is here.
The Memory Thief looks interesting. I don't care much for super long chapters. I just read a book with super long chapters and it took me forever. Have a great reading week!
Last week and this one looks good. Enjoy

As long as the story is good, I don't really care what the format is. My response is here
LOL - I am a "just one more chapter" reader too!
Sonnets for Sinners sound intriguing.
The Memory Thief looks interesting.
As to formats, the key is, I think, the skill of the writer. a great writer can tell a great story in many formats. But I tend toward the straight prose. I am not very daring.
Format? Format? We dunt need no stinkin' format! (Cheech & Chong, remember?) Okay, so I'm outta my league here. Sorry! Stopped by to say hey! So Hey. Was wondering if you have a minute could you stop by my blog. I need some comments on my post today because I'm pitching this new company that I deal with & I don't want them to think I have no one interested. Sure would appreciate it. Thanks. Anyone else who'd like to come along is appreciated too. ttyl {{HUGS}}
You had a great reading week!
Enjoy your books ;)
Thanks for stopping by CMash :) I'm a little late, but better late than never. Had a busy day yesterday so just now getting around to seeing what everyone is reading.
I can't believe how many challenges you've got goin' on. I promised myself not to join any this year because it got kind of overwhelming. But you go girl!
Love the cover of the Memory Thief. I tend to pick books based on their cover. Not sure if that's good or bad, but that's what I do. Have a great week!
