Today's question:
Since my dog is turning 10 today … what animal-related books have you read? Which do you love? Do you have a favorite literary dog? (Snoopy, anyone?)
My answer:
My answer:
I don't typically read books that are "animal related" or where an animal is the main character. However, as a child I did, such as Curious George, Snoopy, and others.
Recently, I did read a book, that will be for a giveaway here on my blog, that I have to admit was adorable. It is the first book made for dogs titled The Bedtime Book For Dogs. It's a book that is perfectly illustrated and is for the purpose of an owner reading a bedtime story to their pet. I gave my copy to my future dil, who calls it "her bonding time with Bronx, their weimaraner". I think it is also an educational tool for little ones to feel like "big boys and girls" to read the story to their pets.

My dog just looks at books as another one of those thing (like tv, computer, etc) that get the way of her petting time.lol
I used to enjoy The Witches Dog by Frank Rodgers series with my kids when they were younger.
I loved Snoopy. Such a cool dog.

Sounds like an interesting book. Here is my BTT.
I'm not sure that I have a favorite, but I loved The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein.
Good answers, we just got a puppy.

Happy Birthday to your Doggie! You KNOW I am a dog lover (having my grand puppy as my assistant on my blog!) I also have the book to read to dogs and I am going to give it to my grandson who is 14 months and they can read it together to his "puppa" as he calls her. I have a lot of favorite dogs in literature but a wonderful book that I taught for years about Old Dan and Lil Ann and their loving owner, the little boy, around the depression, is WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS. A great book for intermediate age students and my boys would usually cry more than my girls at the sad part near the end. Check it out!
I don't have a dog at the moment, but if I did, I'd love the idea of reading doggie a bedtime story! Sounds like a very cute book.
The Bedtime Book for Dogs sounds really interesting!
Hope you'll stop by and say hi...
