Monday Memes

Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading
Today's question:
Do you listen to audiobooks? Why, or why not?

My answer:
No and for a few reasons.  I have this misconception, and I don't know why, that it would put me to sleep listening to someone speak for hours.  Would it take away from me creating my own vivid images?  Would I truly pay full attention?  I'm not a multitasker.  For example, while I am blogging and/or doing paperwork in my home office, I always have the TV turned on to a cable news station , but I wouldn't be able to tell you what the anchors had been talking about.  See my point?  However, I see that a lot of bloggers do seem to enjoy this mode of reading so maybe someday I will give it a try.

October is being hosted by Serena from Savvy Verse & Wit
Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of A girl and her books and is now on tour.

According to Marcia, “Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.”

as to audiobooks..
yes, they do put me to sleep and no, my mind does tend to wander. On rare occasions I can enjoy them but not often.

I've enjoyed several Sandra Brown books...and I saw Lethal at the bookstore. I passed it by, because I have two of her books on my stacks that I need to read first!

Enjoy your books!

I don't like audio, either. Maybe someday?

I'm with Caite, my mind wanders also. Don't seem to have as much concentration power as in younger days. Ha ha! On the big trek north is about the only time we use audio books. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on Lethal.

Have a great week and hopefully it'll be stress free.

I have had luck with one audiobook but since then, I haven't been able to listen to one. Not sure if it is the narrator or the story itself I am having troubles with.

My mind wanders when I listen to some audiobooks, but I think that's a function of the narrator.

I heard Sandra Brown speak at SIBA and she's hilarious. I can't wait to read Lethal.

When I listen to an audio book, I want no distractions. Oh yes, I crochet, but, other than that, I want to be alone here in my little reading corner, just me and my audio book and my little crochet hook, quietly listening and creating.

I've enjoyed a few Linda Lael Miller books. Hope it's a good one!
