Friday Memes

FRIDAY
Before getting to today's memes, I wanted to make you aware of two issues.
1.  This morning I received multiple emails from multiple sites informing me that I had been hacked.   The same thing happened yesterday to Lori from Dollycas's Thoughts.   So if you receive any vile and/or disgusting emails from my address, it is not me sending them, it is the person who got my password.  Also if you see anything on the face of my blog, I usually work from my dashboard.  Please notify me asap and forward me any emails if applicable.
2.  In case you have noticed that I haven't been blog hopping, it's, unfortunately, due to the fact that my Mom was rushed back to the hospital and I have been back and forth to the hospital,  Again I ask for a favor, if you believe in prayer, I would greatly appreciate a prayer for her as she is in a very weakened state.  I'm not sure how long she will be in the hospital, but wanted to let you know in case I don't respond to your emails, comments and/or visit your blog.  There are definitely evil people in this world.  My Mom is going to be 90 next month.  When I went to visit her yesterday, I noticed 2 items missing,  She is a very religious woman and  always wore a gold necklace with a gold medallion with the Blessed Virgin that I had bought for her when I went to Italy in 1973.  Gone!!!  Her wedding band...Gone!!!   How could a person do that to an elderly person that is so sick?  I truly wish Karma will befall onto the person that did this.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, visit An Island Life answer the question and then post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

MY QUESTION:
Since Sunday is Father's Day, how would you describe your Dad?
MY ANSWER:
Unfortunately I lost my Dad when I was 16 years old but have so many
wonderful memories.  He was a hard working, family oriented and a very generous man.

Book Blogger Hop
Hosted by Jennifer from CRAZY FOR BOOKS
In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and find new book-related blogs that we may be missing out on! This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs that they may not know existed! So, grab the logo, post about the Hop on your blog, and start HOPPING through the list of blogs that are posted in the Linky list below!!
Your blog should have content related to books, including, but not limited to book reviews.

This week's question:
“How many books are currently in your To-Be-Read (TBR) Pile?”

My answer:
Too many to count.  I have a large 5 shelf bookcase in my "reading room /library /office".  The top shelf is just for tbr requested reviews, plus what books I have in my Kindle and Sony Ereaders waiting to be read.  The remaining 4 shelves of my bookcase are my personal tbr books along with what are the books that I have downloaded into both EReaders.  That is why I have renamed my list to my "personal tbr bucket list" because at my age, I wonder if I will ever get to read all that are waiting their turn to be read.

I lost my Dad one year ago and miss him terribly. I would describe him as very outgoing, talkative, friendly, and stubborn.

For my to-be-read reading pile...I would be ashamed to admit how long the list is, LOL! I have a problem when it comes to books - I keep buying them and adding more to my list. I love to read. Too many books and too little time.

I figured about 100 physical books (including some ebooks) - I don't dare add any books that I know I want to get to someday but don't have a copy, that number would be frightening!

Hopping by from the Hop! Love your blog! :)

I only keep a very small amount of books on hand. That way I don't get overwhelmed. I also don't request ARC's so I'm not overloaded with those either! :)

When I first moved here, I had so many books that I had acquired over a period of time that I had to box them separately. I physically keep them on the floor in my bedroom, and on the coffee table and atop the bookcase in my office.

For the count, go to MY BLOGGER HOP POST

Oh Cheryl! I'm so sorry you've been having such a horrible week! I'll definitely be keeping your mom in my thoughts and prayers. ((HUGZ!!))

I would describe my dad as honest, loyal, dedicated and hard working. Apparently I take after him. ;)

In answer to your book question - too many to count! But I've also been side tracked with my Kindle, I've devoured 4-1/2 books in the last few weeks since I've been reading that...maybe I'll have to download the titles of my pile'o'books to make sure I get to them. ;)

Sorry to that your mom is back in the hospital and that her things were taken. Be assured their "sin will find them out" (one way or another).

Sorry to hear about your Mom being ill and I wish her a speedy recovery. I know how difficult it can be because my mother passed away suddenly a few years ago and it was a terrible shock.
There are truly awful, cruel people out there but I am sure they will get what they deserve.
Thinking of you.

Wow! You have more than one ereader? I only have a Kindle and I love it. Do you like one over the other?

UGH!! I cannot believe all of this! The stuff with your mom makes me sick!! I really hope that she feels better! I also hope that you feel better too... Karma will prevail!!

I lost my father 2 years ago and miss him terribly!! He was a great man, fun to be around, loyal, but don't make him mad(Kinda like me)!!

Sending warm thoughts and prayers your way!!

Your mom and you are in my thoughts and prayers! I hope Karma will rear it's ugly head on the person who took her precious jewelry. You have to be a vile person to do such a thing..at least in my book.

I lost my dad 25 years ago but I have many fond memories of him. He was funny and kept me laughing all the time. He also loved to read newspapers from everywhere! I keep thinking he would love the internet and all the access to news from all over the world!

I'm far too embarrassed by how many books I have waiting to be read.

My dad is amazing. He's a jack of all trades and he is the funniest person I know. He and I spend a lot of time laughing together...at other's expenses. lol

So sorry to hear about your mom!! Will add her to the prayer circle at church on Sunday and Intercessory prayer on Monday. Whoever took your mother's things will be held accountable! That is definite!!

I would describe my dad as the most loving husband and father I've ever seen. He loved to read as much as I do. He read mostly westerns though, and I love mystery/suspense.

I'm so sad that someone would steal those items from your mother. It just makes you wonder, doesn't it? I will be praying for your mom.

Your TBR sounds like mine. Come read my Book Blogger Hop post in which I discuss my TBR and coin a new way of measuring it.

If I never buy or request a book again, I probably have enough reading for 10 years! But what's the fun in that? I do need to slow down on review requests -- they are piling up and I feel obligated to read those first. So my "personal" library is being neglected.

I would describe my Dad as a hero. He's always there whenever we need his help or support . . . no complaining, no questions asked.
