Monday Memes

MONDAY

This week's question:
Is there a book you absolutely love, but for some reason, people never think it sounds interesting, or maybe they read it and don’t like it at all?

My answer:
Absolutely!!!  And it's not a book but a series, of 13 books.  It is my favorite read of all time and called The Left Behind Series.  I am not sure if its because that when I tell someone what the premise of the books are or that it is a series of 13 books that kind of scares someone away.  It did me at first.  A friend of mine tried on different occasions to get me to read it and I finally gave in.  All it took was the first few chapters, I was hooked, and the series was done in a little over a month.  I am not sure if anyone has taken my advice to read it but whenever I am around readers, I always ask if anyone has read it, and the majority of the time they have, and the discussion turns directly to those books and similarities of the wold today.  Would love to know if any bloggers have read them and what they thought!!!

According to Marcia, “Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.”

"Meet Me On Monday!"
Blogging is a funny thing...we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time I find myself sitting and wondering, "who is this person!?" I know them...but yet I don't know them! I want to know who the person is behind all those words so I thought of a great way for all of us to "meet" each other!

Bad girl!!  You should be reading" lol and I would pick up my book.  So thank you for spending the week with me.

Hmmm... had no idea there were so many Monday Memes!

Anyway, for your Musing Monday post, I've only actually seen the TV movie based on the first book of the Left Behind series, so it would be unfair of me to judge the entire series on the acting prowess of Kirk Cameron ;)

And for my take - Weekly Meme: Musing Mondays

I barely text. It seems there are very few that don't. I'd be a general education texter. :)

I'm now very curious about this series...I think, judging from some of your other book choices, that I might like it.

I see that you have some Judith Krantz and Barbara Taylor Bradford and Sandra Brown books listed...I love all of those!

Here's my musing:

Mmm...pancakes :P (that's a drooly face). The Musing Monday question is an interesting one. Mine would be K-PAX by Gene Brewer--amazing sci-fi book but no one has ever heard of it or thinks it sounds dull. Ah well, their loss :D

I started the Left Behind series, but decided to wait until they were all finished as I hate to wait and have not gone back yet!

Looks like some oldies but goodies in your mailbox!

Lots of good books came into your house this week :) I've never read Michael Connelly but I know several people who can't get enough of his books.

Hope you enjoy them all!

My mother-in-law's not much of a reader and she loved the Left Behind series so I guess I should give it a try.

I got sucked into the Left Behind Series too - something I never thought would happen just from reading the plot premise. I think I quit at about book 9 though. You had a great MM this week. Enjoy!

Great books in your mailbox! I've heard The Lincoln Lawyer sounds like a good one.

You are welcome, Cheryl! I so enjoy hosting read-a-thons and try to provide as much encouragement as I can. My next one, Spring's Serenity Read-A-Thon, will be in April. Be watching for the dates.
